Error description

When you open the Job Manager console and go to the Job
Manager server configuration, a link is missing for
"z/OS location service" when the job manager is running on a
z/OS system.

Local fix

Use wsadmin to view and change the z/os location service
configuration.  Instructions on how view and change the
configuration are provided in the WebSphere Application Server
7.0 release notes.

Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: "z/OS location service" is missing      *
*                      from the Job Manager Configuration      *
*                      Page. Search for job history does not   *
*                      gather the correct results when         *
*                      searching for timestamps less than a    *
*                      certain time. Version name for v5 and   *
*                      v6.0 nodes can be mislabeled in a       *
*                      mixed cell environment.                 *

* RECOMMENDATION:  1. z/OS location service can be configured  *
*                  via wsadmin until this fix is available.    *
*                  2. Use wsadmin when you need to search      *
*                  job history prior to a certain time stamp.  *
*                  3. Ignore the "ND" label for v5 and v6.0    *
*                  nodes in a mixed cell environment. This     *
*                  label may or may not be correct.            *

Part 1. The customer cannot view or change the z/OS location
service configuration from the console.  They can change the
configuration using wsadmin. Information on how to view or
change the configuration from wsadmin was published in a
release note for v7.0.

Part 2. Job History Search.  When searching for job history,
if the user selected to search "<" a time stamp value, the
results returned were ">" the time stamp value. Use wsadmin to
search for history prior to a certain time.

Part 3. Mixed Cell Version information.  In a mixed cell
environment all nodes that are of version 5 or 6.0 are
reported with the "ND" short product name.  This product name
information is not available until v6.1 so it is in error for
WebSphere Application Server Express and WebSphere Application
Server Base versions.

Problem conclusion

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 7.0.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended

Information to work around these issues:
Part 1. Use wsadmin to view or change the z/OS location
service configuration.  More information is available at

Part 2. From the console just use ">" when querying using
time stamps.  If you want to query for history before a time
stamp, use wsadmin.  Use command assistance for help creating
the wsadmin command.

Part 3. If you have a mixed cell environment with version 5 or
6.0 nodes, ignore the "ND" in the version short product name.
It may or may not be correct.
