* USERS AFFECTED:  Users of WSDL4J with WebSphere Application  *
*                  Server v7                                   *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The code that allows for WSDLLocator    *
*                      implementations to be used as           *
*                      EntityResolvers does not work for       *
*                      relatively imported DTD documents.      *
*                      The location is set as the systemId     *
*                      on the InputSource, but then when the   *
*                      BaseWSDLLocator is called again there   *
*                      is an invalid location for the          *
*                      imported DTD file. For the              *
*                      DocumentBuilder to correctly call       *
*                      resolveEntity (with the correct         *
*                      systemID for the imported document),    *
*                      it needs the importing document's       *
*                      systemID to be an absolute URL. If      *
*                      not, the DocumentBuilder will attempt   *
*                      to resolve the imported document's      *
*                      location by prepending the working      *
*                      directory path.                         *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

The WSDLLocator was changed to use a URL form for the systemID
it returns, so that WEB-INF/wsdl/xml.xsd becomes
was_webservices:WEB-INF/wsdl/xml.xsd. This is seen by the
DocumentBuilder as an absolute URL and causes the
DocumentBuilder to pass a systemID for the imported document,
relative to the parent. Namely
was_webservices:WEB-INF/wsdl/xmlSchema.dtd. Part of the fix is
to *strongly recommend* (not require, for backwards
compatibility reasons) that WSDLLocators set the systemId
returned from getImportInputSource, and that it be an absolute
URL (especially if WSDLocator is being used as ER).

Problem conclusion

This fix is targeted for inclusion in WebSphere Application
Server 7.0.0.1
