Error description

Scenario 1:
ABEND0C4/ABENDS0C4 when attempting to recycle the nodeagent.
The first nodeagent ends normally; however the second nodeagent
suffers the ABEND0C4/ABENDS0C4 during initialization.

Scenario 2:
ABENDDC3/06070002 is issued by the NodeAgent when NodeAgent is
started through the admin console.  When it is restarted through
mvs console, it starts up fine.
The top of the traceback for the failing thread (WebSphere
main therad:
 BBOT_ENQ::obtainEnq(char*,int)

Register 0 at the time of error contains a pointer, ex:
Reg0: 7F0F5040
and WebSphere expects a value (reason code) of 0,4 or 8.
That pointer points to the storage where low-order byte is the
actual return code (in this case 04 - 852A4B04) which is what
WebSphere should be looking at.

While attempting to recycle a WebSphere Application Server for
z/OS nodeagent or application server, the new server suffers
an ABEND0C4/ABENDS0C4 or ABENDDC3/ABENDSDC3 with minor code
06070002 during initialization.

The ABEND occurs because the code does not properly map the
storage returned by the z/OS system service ENQP.  This causes
the server to incorrectly access unavailable storage (the
ABEND0C4) or to incorrectly interpret the return code (the
ABENDDC3).

Problem conclusion

The code was corrected to properly map the storage returned
by the ENQP z/OS system service.

APAR PK72659 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.1 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0
for z/OS.
