Error description

  • Sending TCP messages to the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
    container at high load (100 calls per second) causes call
    failures. The log prints either a NullPointerException or
    an IllegalStateException.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Transport failure in sending messages *
    * at a high call rate from the SIP *
    *                      (Session Initiation                     *
    *                      Protocol) container using               *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Under high load, the SIP container attempts to send multiple
    messages over the same TCP/IP connection at the same time. The
    channel does not support sending one message while another
    outbound message is still pending. Attempting to send multiple
    messages concurrently, on the same channel, causes a failure.
    The symptom of the failure varies, but it always ends up with
    the message being dropped instead of sent, followed by an
    exception printout in SystemErr.log - either a
    NullPointerException or an IllegalStateException.
