PK72886: INCORRECT WSDL GENERATED FOR 2 DIMENSIONAL ARRAY TYPES

Error description

When generating a web service using the bottom up approach, if
there are two dimensional arrays defined in the java bean, the
tooling will generate a wrong wsdl.

For example:

If we have a java beans with two dimension arrays define as
followed:

 private long[][] f5;
 private float[][] f6;
 private double[][] f7;

 private java.util.Calendar[][] f10;
 private java.math.BigInteger[][] f11;
 private java.math.BigDecimal[][] f12;
 private javax.xml.namespace.QName[][] f13;
 private java.net.URI[][] f14;

The web service engine tooling generate the following wsdl:

The problem was observed in WebSphere Application Server
v6.0.2.21

Java2WSDL is generating an invalid Web Services Description
Language (WSDL) when processing 2 dimensional array types.
The incorrectly generated WSDL shows the following:

        <element maxOccurs="unbounded" minOccurs="0"
name="ArrayOf_xsd_nillable_string" nillable="true"
type="impl:ArrayOf_xsd_nillable_string"/>
    </sequence>
</complexType>

The correct WSDL should show:

<complexType name="ArrayOfArrayOf_xsd_nillable_string">
    <sequence>
        <element maxOccurs="unbounded" minOccurs="0"
name="ArrayOf_xsd_nillable_string" nillable="true"
type="impl:ArrayOf_xsd_nillable_string"/>
    </sequence>
</complexType>

Problem conclusion

The Java2WSDL code has been updated to generate a valid WSDL.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpacks 6.0.2.33, 6.1.0.23, and 7.0.0.3.  Please refer to the
