Error description

The optimized timer support implemented in bboodtm
recalculates the "point of origin" time used in calculating a
related timer slot during the  setting of dispatch timers every
11 days.  There is an error in this path that causes the new
"point of origin" to be 0. This will cause unpredictable timer
behavior. This effects the stability of the Server in regard to
time-out processing of requests.

The Request dispatch timers (ex., protocol_http_timeout_output,
control_region_wlm_dispatch_timeout, ...) may pop immediately
or not at all after the Dispatch Timer Manager (bboodtm.cpp)
adjusts the "Point of Origin" value.  The "Point of Origin"
value is adjusted every 11 days. The "Point of Origin"
value is used to calculate the relative timer Slot to which
a new alarm request is to be associated.  There is an error in
adjusting the "Point of Origin".  This will cause unpredictable
behavior for any native alarm request using the Dispatch Timer
Manager support.

Problem conclusion

Code has been modified in the Dispatch Timer Manager to
correctly update the "Point of Origin".

APAR PK73341 is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.1 of WebSphere
Application Server V7.0 for z/OS.
