APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
When the proxy server creates and revalidates the same cache entries in a very short term, the bytebuffers held in some cache entries are not released and cause a memory leak.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Application Server * * V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Memory leaking in proxy cache when * * cache entries with the same key get * * created and invalidated frequently. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Dyncache cache invalidation is key based. When more than one cache entry with same key get invalidated, the invalidation callback is not invoked for all the entries and causes a memory leak.
Problem conclusion
In the fix, cache entry values are released before invoking the dynacache invalidate call. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 7.0.0.1.
