Error description

Memory use in thread local storage continually grows when
applications are repeatedly started and stopped without
recycling the application server. The increase in memory use
can be observed by restarting the same application repeatedly
without stopping the server in between restarts. Similarly, the
problem can be seen by starting large numbers of applications
on a single server instance.

When starting multiple applications or starting and stopping
the same application continuously without resetting the
application server, memory consumption continually increases.
This will eventually lead to errors when memory cannot be
obtained by the server.

Problem conclusion

The memory consumption problem has been fixed, and there is no
longer a memory leak.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 7.0.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
