PK74396: SA03 ABEND DURING SERVER STOP PROCESSING AFTER REPLICATION WAS ENABLED.

Error description

When STOP is issued for the application server, the servant
comes down, but controller abends with SA03.  This behavior was
triggered by configuring memory-to-memory session replication.

The dump of A03 shows 8 threads still up in the controller.
The last one in the list (ip summ format) is the one that caused
the problem.

Based on a console dump taken right before STOP was issued, the
last thread in the SA03 dump was a daemon thread and had the
following traceback:

DRS uses a daemon thread that waits for incoming requests.
The thread is interupted during the shutdown but the thread
resumes waiting in the while loop.

Problem conclusion

A flag has been defined that is set when the runtime component
shutsdown the DRS service. This flag is checked during each
loop iteration and exits if a shutdown has been initiated.

APAR PK74396 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 6.1.0.23 of WebSphere Application Server V6.1
for z/OS.
