Error description

When message selection is performed using selection criteria
(or topic strings) that include multiple wildcard characters,
applications are delivered messages that do not match their
selection criteria, or are not delivered messages that do
match their selection criteria.

An example JMS selector that can experience this issue is:
myproperty LIKE '%myvalue1%'

An example topic match string that can experience this issue is:
//mytopic//

When multiple applications consume from a queue or topic using
different selection criteria, an optimization is used by the
messaging engine to group together the selection criteria
of multiple applications into a single match space.

In the fix packs affected by this APAR, this optimization can
incorrectly group together applications with different
selection criteria. This causes all affected applications to
receive the messages that match the criteria of the first
application that connected to the bus.

The problem only occurs for complex selection criteria, that
includes multiple wildcard characters. This includes the '//'
wildcard in topic match strings, and the '%' wildchard in
SQL92 LIKE statements.

Problem conclusion

This APAR fixes the optimization for complex selection
criteria, so that applications receive all messages which
match their selection criteria, and none that do not.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 6.0.2.33, 6.1.0.23 and 7.0.0.3.  Please refer to the
