Error description

An FFDC report is generated containing the following
exception, and a remote queue point is seen in DELETE_PENDING
state:

This problem is caused by a messaging engine incorrectly
retaining some persistent state associated with the remote
queue point. The state relates to a message which was
consumed indirectly via the affected remote queue point
(remote-get). The message is older than the agreed point of
consistency between the two messaging engines (the completed
prefix) and hence is redundant.

During normal operation, this state does not affect the
messaging engine as it is ignored. However, when the
destination is deleted and the messaging engine attempts to
clean up the remote queue point, this state prevents the
remote queue point from being deleted.

The redundant state is held a result of a rollback of an
internal transaction. While the handling of the rollback
maintained data integrity, it did not ensure all redundant
state was removed.

This problem can leave remote queue points in DELETE_PENDING
state without seeing CWSIP0008E messages logged to the JVM logs.
The CWSIP0008E messages are only seen if the remote queue
point was also used to indirectly send messages, and the
messaging engine that owns the destination needs to confirm
that the remote queue point has been cleaned up. This causes
it to send AREYOUFLUSHED control messages every 3 seconds
until the delete completes. As the delete never completes, the
log can become filled with CWSIP0008E messages.

Problem conclusion

This APAR resolves the issue by detecting and cleaning up
redundant state of this type each time a messaging engine
is started. This allows the remote queue point to be deleted.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpacks 6.0.2.35, 6.1.0.23 and 7.0.0.3.
