Error description

Under heavy load, a NullPointerException may be seen from
com.ibm.ws.sib.msgstore.transactions.XidManager.
After the NullPointerException has been seen, further attempts
to use messaging can fail.

A NullPointerException can also be seen from
com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.gd.GuaranteedTargetStream
causing a connection between two messaging engines in a bus to
fail.

The two NullPointerException exceptions seen to occur are:

1) While attempting to commit a transaction:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.ibm.ws.sib.msgstore.transactions.XidManager.
                                     commit(XidManager.java:390)
at com.ibm.ws.sib.msgstore.transactions.MSDelegatingXAResource.
                         commit(MSDelegatingXAResource.java:513)
at com.ibm.ws.sib.ra.inbound.impl.SibRaXaResource.
                                 commit(SibRaXaResource.java:99)
...

2) While receiving a message over a messaging engine connection:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.gd.GuaranteedTargetStream.
            setStreamIsBlocked(GuaranteedTargetStream.java:1896)
at com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.gd.GuaranteedTargetStream.
     streamCanAcceptNewMessage(GuaranteedTargetStream.java:2020)
at com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.gd.GuaranteedTargetStream.
                     writeValue(GuaranteedTargetStream.java:400)
...
at com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.io.RemoteMessageReceiver.
                  receiveMessage(RemoteMessageReceiver.java:359)
at com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.io.MPIO.receiveMessage(MPIO.java:199
...

Problem conclusion

This APAR prevents the two NullPointerException exception from
occurring.
