Error description

Starting with JDBC version 10.2 ,  ORA-17447 is an error number
associated with the error message "OALL8 is in an inconsistent
state".  This error is raised by the JDBC/thin driver when any
error occurs during the protocol exchange between the driver
and the database.

This error is not specific to a particular event happening on
the database server-side or the driver side but rather an
unexpected situation during the communication processing.

This error is deemed fatal.  The recommended handling of this
error is to close the connection ( if possible) and acquire a
new connection.  In that sense, this error can be processed
like a stale connection.

The ORA-17447 is a fatal error if it is not mapped to stale
the application server does not know to destroy this connections

Problem conclusion

The ORA-17447 error was added to the IBM Relational Resource
Adapter Exception Maping so it would be mapped to a stale
connection exception.  This allows the connection to be
correctly cleaned up and destroyed.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpacks 7.0.0.3 and 6.1.0.23.Please refer to the Recommended
