Problem conclusion
A code change was obtained per the eclipse bugzilla defect and was ported and integrated into the version of code as used within the IBM WebSphere Application Server. The code change modifies the lazy initialization steps to perform the update to a shared variable at the end of the operation, instead of during the operation. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpacks 6.0.2.35, 6.1.0.25, and 7.0.0.5.
