PK75667: IBM i: derby.log file access permission error

Error description

After installing a WebSphere Application Server v6.1 or v7.0 fix
pack, the application server can no longer write to
WAS_HOME/derby/derby.log.  This results in an error in
SystemErr.log similar to the following:
java.io.FileNotFoundException:
/QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V61/Base/derby/derby.log
(The file access permissions do not allow the specified
action.)

Local fix

Ensure the QEJBSVR user profile has at least *RW access to the
file.

As part of fix pack install, authorities on files in the
product root are reset on derby.log that exclude the
application server user QEJBSVR from writing the file.

Problem conclusion

After fix pack install, correct the file access permissions to
derby.log if the file exists.

fix packs 6.1.0.23 and 7.0.0.3.  Please refer to the
