Error description

Running a proxy server internal test on a z/OS operating
system, it caused an OutOfMemory error to occur. After an hour
or so the JVM free heap quickly went to 0 and produced two SVC
dumps.

There is a problem in the WLM code running on the Proxy
(which has only been seen so far running on z/OS) in which some
of WLMs internal objects are not releasing references to each
other when necessary. Over time these references which should
be garbage collected will build up and cause an OutOfMemory in
the Proxy server.

Problem conclusion

The code was rewritten to ensure that the references will be
cleaned up, which prevents the OutOfMemory from occurring.
The main class that would be indicated in a heap dump analysis
would be RuleEtiqeutte.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 7.0.0.3 and 6.1.0.37  Please refer to the Recommended
