Error description

The VersionInfo utility fails to show the architecture value
on Microsoft Windows. If there are stack products depending on
it's output or customers interested in the operating system and
architecture of their WebSphere Application Server
installation, then this defect will cause a severe limitation
on Microsoft Windows.

The VersionInfo utility relies on a specific native binary file
on Application Server and Secure Proxy Server to determine the
architecture of the product. The name of the binary file is
different between Microsoft Windows and non-Windows operating
systems. The VersionInfo utility fails get the correct binary
file name on Microsoft Windows to report the architecture
information.

Problem conclusion

There is no need to use a specific native binary file on
Application Server and Secure Proxy Server to determine the
architecture of the product. The utility is modified such that
it will use any of the native binary files shipped in the
product to determine the architecture of the product.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 7.0.0.3.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
