PK76800: THE MAXIMUM VALUE FOR THE MAXIMUM MESSAGE LENGTH PROPERTY OF A WEBSPHERE MQ LINK IS INCORRECT

Error description

The maximum value that can be specified for the -maxMsgSize
parameter when creating a  WebSphere MQ Link using the
createSIBMQLink command in wsadmin scripting is 4194304 (4MB).

The maximum value that can be specified in the "Maximum
message size" property of a WebSphere MQ Link in the
administrative console is 2147483647 (2GB).

Both of these maximum values are incorrect.
The maximum value should be 104857600 (100MB) in both cases,
as this is the maximum value that can be negotiated on a
WebSphere MQ channel.

*                      runtime as the WebSphere MQ channel     *

The code and the information center are incorrect for both the
wsadmin scripting command, and the administrative console.
The maximum value that can be specified should be 104857600 in
all cases.

Problem conclusion

The fix for this APAR updates the createSIBMQLink command to
accept values up to 104857600 for the -maxMsgSize parameter.
The fix also update the administrative console to prevent
values larger than 104857600 from being specified.

The information center will also be corrected.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 6.1.0.25.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
