Error description

Customer got the following error with the Tivoli Performance
Viewer (TPV). Status of the TPV is lost after a server re-start.

- re-start the server (TPV is stopped while you re-start the
server)
- go to the TPV panel and you will see the stop button only,
even the
  TPV is not running on  that server (due to the re-start)
- you are not able to start the TPV anymore
- stopping the TPV (push the stop button) results in an
  exception
ServletException
in:/com.ibm.ws.console.tpv/tiles/messageFormTile.jsp]
null nested runtime exception is java.lang.NullPointerException'

Local fix

You have to wait about 20 min or a nodeagent re-start has to
be done to get rid of this TPV status

Problem summary

In case of a Deployment Manager process, the logging status of
the tivoli performance viewer (when a server restart is done)
is not properly checked for updating.

Problem conclusion

Code had been corrected to alleviate this problem. Now
once the server is restarted, the tivoli performance viewer
page on the administrative console shows a 'Start Logging'
button which can be clicked to start logging the application
which would have been stopped when the server was restarted.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.0.2.35, 6.1.0.25 and 7.0.0.5.  Please refer to the
