    ****************************************************************
This problem was noted as an internal defect against the
v7.0 release of the IBM WebSphere Application Server.

The symptom of this problem is an
ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException showing beneath a call to
    org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.webapplication.internal.impl.ServletImpl.ge
    tServletClass().

In this case, the ServletImpl object contains data which was
read from a deployment descriptor (web.xml) of a Web
    Application Archive (WAR) file.

The exception will occur when a call is made to
ServletImpl.getServletClass when the servlet has a web-type of
    JSP.

    For example:

    java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: Array index out of
    range: 2
      at org.eclipse.emf.common.util.URI.segment(URI.java:1634)

Problem conclusion

  • The problem was fixed by updating the implementation of
getServletClass to return null when the web-type is JavaServer
Page (JSP). Note that this is not a change of the return
value, since the prior result was an
    ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 7.0.0.5. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
