Error description

A Message Driven Bean consumes messages from a queue in
a WebSphere MQ on z/OS queue manager configured as a
WebSphere MQ Server member of a service integration bus.
It then sends messages to a queue hosted by a messaging engine
within the bus.

The messages are correctly consumed from the WebSphere MQ queue
and the onMessage() method of the MDB is called. At the end of
the onMessage() method when an attempt is made to send a
message to the out queue the following XAException is thrown:

As the messaging engine used to consume the message from
WebSphere MQ queue (via the WebSphere MQ Server bus member)
and to send the message to the bus destination are the same,
the transaction manager uses a start() call on the XAResource
with a TMJOIN flag to indicate that the same branch of the
transaction should be used for both operations.

This results in the following XAException, due to the
TMJOIN flag not being handled correctly by the WebSphere
MQ Server bus member functionality:

Problem conclusion

This APAR solves the problem and allows the XAResource to join
the existing transaction.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
