PK80532: WEB SERVICES BUSINESS ACTIVITY PARTICIPANT REGISTERS TWICE WITH THE COORDINATOR

Error description

This problem occurs on z/OS only.

When a Web Services Business Activity participant registers
with it's coordinator, the registerOperation SOAP message
construction may result in iiop requests (by WSAddressing code
to validateClusterResidency) from the SR to the CR.

Since there is a corresponing ActivityService context on the
thread at this point, the ActivityService iiop interceptors are
invoked and proceed to marshal the context for the request.

This results in a nested call to register as the initial
register has not yet completed.  Only one of these registered
participants will ever complete and so the request hangs.

twice with coordinator (z/OS).
When a WS-BA participant registers with it's coordinator, the
registerOperation SOAP message construction may result in iiop
requests (by WS-Addressing code to validateClusterResidency)
from the SR to the CR.  Since there is a corresponding
ActivityService context on the thread at this point, the
ActivityService iiop interceptors are invoked and proceed to
marshal the context for the request.  This results in a nested

Problem conclusion

The Activity Service will be changed to ensure that the
incorrect iiop requests are not AP-AR.

APAR PK80532 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.3 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0
for z/OS.
