In our design of Identity Assertion, we assumed that the IBM
WebSphere Application Server Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
proxy was the only proxy that was to handle the authentication
required for Identity Assertion. This was not the case and we
needed to allow for the P-Asserted-Identity to flow through
the proxy.

Problem conclusion

A custom property ('trustedIPAddressList') was added to the
SIP proxy which will allow the administrator to specify the IP
addresses of any systems that the SIP proxy is to allow the
P-Asserted-Identity header to flow from through the SIP proxy
to the SIP containers. Any P-Asserted-Identity headers that
are not in this configured list will be stripped off as before.

This custom property is set in the SIP Proxy
Settings->Custom properties section. The values are semicolon
delimited IP addresses which also allow for the use of regular
expressions. For example ("10.8.10.2;10.8.10.3;10.8.4.*").
The SIP proxy would only allow SIP messages that contain the
P-Asserted-Identity headers to pass through the SIP proxy. SIP
messages that contain the P-Asserted-Identity from any other
IP adddress or ones that match the given regular expression
would be stripped off before being sent to the SIP Container.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.5.  Please refer to the Recommended
