Error description
Augmenting a WebSphere Application Server V6.1 profile with the Feature Pack for EJB3 fails with the following message: Cannot augment the profile because there is at least one pre-V6.1 node in the cell. The following pre-V6.1 nodes have been found: no_invalid_node
Local fix
No known workaround at this time.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the IBM? WebSphere? * * Application Server V6.1.0 Feature Pack for * * Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After installing the Feature Pack for * * Enterprise JavaBean 3.0 augmentation * * fails, indicating that there are * * pre-V6.1 nodes. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The augmentation failure is erroneously happening in this case due to a bug in some of the code which scans the environment looking for pre-V6.1 nodes. It was verified that all nodes are at the V6.1 level and the environment is such that augmentation should proceed.
Problem conclusion
With this fix, code has been added to the augmentation process to ensure augmentation can be performed when all nodes are at the V6.1 level. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in the Feature Pack Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 Fix Pack 25 (6.1.0.25).
