Error description

In the UDP Channel of IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0,
a NullPointerException is thrown when a wildcard "*" character
is passed as a local interface name to the
createUDPRequestContext method.

Local fix

The workaround is to pass in null for local interface name.

Problem summary

The UDP Channel was not correctly catching the case where the
wildcard '*' was being put as the interface name.  The UDP
channel should have treated this as if the admin was not
setting the interface and let the lower level Java UDP classes
bind to all interfaces.

Problem conclusion

The UDP channel has been changed to look for the wildcard "*"
character and not pass this into the Java UDP classes and just
pass in null as the interface name.  This tells the Java UDP
classes to bind to all existing interfaces.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.5.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
