The FFDC warns about the ClassNotFoundException via the
    following utility class:
    com.ibm.ws.webservices.utils.ClassUtils.forName(ClassUtils.java:
    152)

This utility class is used to see if the class exists with the
specified classloader and no initialization. The caller of the
    utility class:

    com.ibm.wsspi.webservices.WSDescriptionUtils.getWebServiceClient
    Type(WSDescriptionUtils.java:108)

The above exception in FFDC log file can safely be ignored.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The FFDC log contains a *
    *                      ClassNotFoundException during JAX-WS    *
    * usage even though there is no problem *
    *                      in your application.                    *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Install a FixPack containing this APAR *
    ****************************************************************
The First Failure Detection Capture (FFDC) detects errors the
first time they occur in the system.

During a JAX-WS web service interaction, FFDC logs reported
    ClassNotFoundException errors. Example:

    FFDC Exception:java.lang.ClassNotFoundException
    SourceId:com.ibm.ws.webservices.utils.ClassUtils.run ProbeId:161
    Reporter:com.ibm.ws.webservices.utils.ClassUtils$1@574e574e
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
    com.ibm.wps.wsrp.consumer.wsdl.WSRPService
    at java.lang.Class.forNameImpl(Native Method)
    at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:169)
    at
    com.ibm.ws.webservices.utils.ClassUtils$1.run(ClassUtils.java:15
    9)
    at
    com.ibm.ws.security.util.AccessController.doPrivileged(AccessCon
    troller.
    java:63)
    at
    com.ibm.ws.webservices.utils.ClassUtils.forName(ClassUtils.java:
    152)
    at
    com.ibm.wsspi.webservices.WSDescriptionUtils.getWebServiceClient

This FFDC error originates in utility code that should not be
reporting this issue as an FFDC error. This is a spurious log
and does not indicate a problem with your application.

Problem conclusion

  • FFDC is a valuable tool for capturing error information.
However in this case, the FFDC logging was overly aggressive
and logged a condition that was not an error. The utility
class, ClassUtils, has been changed to avoid logging errors
    for valid conditions.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.5. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
