Error description
Additional testing has been performed to validate the behaviour of the default messaging provider for WebSphere Application Sever under certain recovery scenarios in complex topologies. As a result of this testing some improvements in the behaviour of the default messaging provider have been implemented, and this APAR includes those improvements in WebSphere Application Server

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the default messaging provider * * for IBM WebSphere Application Server * * Version 6.0, Version 6.1 or Version 7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The issues described in this APAR * * can occur during recovery from a * * failure or restart of a component of * * the system, such as an application * * server or network. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The following issues are resolved by this APAR: - When consuming from a queue point or durable subscription via an intermediate messaging engine (ME), message consumption might not resume after the server hosting the ME the application is connected to is restarted. The JVM logs of the server hosting the intermediate ME contain the following entry repeatedly: CWSIP0512E: A stream to communicate with the localisation messaging engine {1} for destination {0} is not available. - Clicking "Delete all messages" to delete all messages on a remote queue point might result in a deadlock within the ME, if an asynchronous task happens to be active within the ME moving messages from that remote queue point to another due to availability of remote MEs. A javacore shows threads in the following methods: com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.utils.LockManager.lockExclusive com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.impl.PtoPOutputHandler.reallocateMsgs - Clicking "Cancel message request" on a message request viewed on a known remote queue point in the administrative console might not correctly remove the message request. - Where an ME has a connected consumer that is consuming messages from a remote queue point a pair of CWSIP0553W and CWSIP0554W messages might be output to the log for each message that has been consumed. The messages can be ignored. - After enabling the sib.processor.repeatedMessagePercentage custom property described in PK65439, the CWSIP0795W messages output contain "0 percent", rather than the correct value. - When an application server hosting an ME restarts after terminating abruptly, and that ME was performing messaging with ReliablePerisistent messages at the time it failed, transactions may be incorrectly listed as indoubt using the script supplied in the "Resolving indoubt transactions" section of the information center.
Problem conclusion
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 6.0.2.35, 6.1.0.25 and 7.0.0.5. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
