Error description
We receive a NoClassDefFoundError exception on a MTOM service endpoint that is for UTF-16. The scenario is as follows: - Create a MTOM service endpoint configured for UTF-16 - Attempt to contact the client Note: There is no error using the identical scenario with UTF-8 StackTrace Excerpt: ------------------------------- [3/31/09 12:29:37:451 EDT] FFDC Exception: java.lang. Problem conclusion
The NoClassDefFoundError is only a symptom of the problem and was caused by the the attachment not being located. The UTF-16 MTOM attachment was not found due to a flaw in the engine code associated with finding attachments when the encoding is not UTF-8. The web service runtime is corrected to ensure that attachments are properly found for all supported encodings. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.5.
