PK84830: ZPMT ISSUES A VALIDATION ERROR MSG FOR VALID RACF KEYRING NAMES

Error description

A customer using level 7.0.0.3 of the zPMT tool to configure
a WAS zOS 7.0 cell specified a 'Default SAF keyring name' on
the 'SSL customization panel' which contained a forward slash
(/) and an underscore (_).  For example:
RING/MY_RING
Both of those values caused the zPMT tool to issue a validation
error for the keyring field:
Default SAF keyring name contains one or more characters that
are not valid.
After consulting the documenation for the allowed characters
for RACF profile name and successfully creating a keyring
with a slash and an underscore using the RACF command:
RACDCERT ADDRING(RING/MY_RING)
it was determined that the validation for the Default SAF
keyring name field in the zPMT tool is in error. The customer
expects the zPMT tool to accept the same keyring names as the
SAF product does.

On the SSL Customization Panel of the zPMT, the Default SAF
Keyring name field does not permit a forward slash or an
underscore character to be used.  However, these are both
allowed by RACF as valid characters and should be permitted.

Problem conclusion

The validation for this field has been updated to permit the
allowed characters for a RACF keyring name.

APAR PK84830 is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.5 of WebSphere
Application Server  for z/OS.  Refer to URL:

to download IBM WebSphere Customization Tools 7.0.0.5 when
available.
