Error description

  • This problem was seen after deleting and recreating a
destination, in an environment with multiple members of a bus.

The JVM logs of the application server hosting the messaging
engine the application was connected to repeated logged the
    following error:
CWSIP0008E: An internal messaging error occurred in
    com.ibm.ws.sib.processor.impl.RemoteMessageReceiver.
receiveControlMessage, 1:719:1.89.1.2, : related values are
    <DESTNAME>,<DESTUUID>, AREYOUFLUSHED

Applications attempting to send messages received the
    following exception:
    SIMPLimitExceededException: CWSIK0025E: The destination
<DESTNAME> on messaging engine <MENAME> is not available
because the high limit for the number of messages for
this destination has already been reached.

    ****************************************************************
This issue only occurs in an bus with multiple messaging
engines, where an application might connect to one messaging
engine in order to send messages to destinations hosted on
another messaging engine in the bus.

The CWSIP0008E errors are logged by the messaging engine
that the application connects to, and does not host the
destination. The destination UUID seen in the errors is the
UUID of the deleted destination (not the UUID of the recreated
    destination with the same name).

The internal events that occur while deleting and recreating a
destination need to occur in a particular, and uncommon,
sequence for this problem to occur. This causes the messaging
engine to mark the transmission stream for the remote queue
point as toBeDeleted in addition to the whole remote queue
point being marked toBeDeleted. Usually only the whole remote
queue point is marked as toBeDeleted.

The problem occurs after the next restart of the messaging
engine after the deletion has occurred. When the
transmission stream is marked toBeDeleted the remote queue
point is placed incorrectly in a CLEANUP_PENDING state, instead
of a marked DELETE_PENDING state. In addition, some required
state that would allow deletion to complete is not established.

The existence of the remote queue piont in CLEANUP_PENDING
state, without the required transmission stream state,
results in the SIMPLimitExceededException being thrown every
time an application attempts to send a message.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this APAR changes the messaging engine startup
code to create the required state for a remote queue point
with a transmission stream marked toBeDeleted, as well as
placing the remote queue point in DELETE_PENDING state.
This allows deletion to complete, and prevents applications
    from receiving SIMPLimitExceededException exceptions.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 6.0.2.37, 6.1.0.27 and 7.0.0.7. Please refer to the
