NullPointerException in Java 2 Connector (J2C) task timer.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A connection error could result in      *
*                      connection pool locking.                *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

Depending the connection pool configuration, a connection pool
could be locked and require a server restart.

This problem only happens on an error path if:
1.The application is using the IBM Relational Resource
Adapter (RRA) and has the purge policy of there connection
pool set to failing connection only.

2.  If the purge policy is set to entire pool and the property
to pre test existing connections is enabled on the J2C
connection pool.

If either number 1 or 2 is true and a connection error occurs
this will cause j2c to go into  test connection mode. If the
first attempt to test an existing connection fails and
then an attempt to get a new connection fails , J2C will then
start a test connection task timer thread and lock the pool
until it is able to get a valid connection. Due to a
NullPointerException the task timer thread dies and the
connection pool is never unlocked. The server must be
restarted to recover from this problem

Problem conclusion

This APAR will address the NullPointerException which is
causing the task timer thread to fail, so the connection pool
should unlock when it is able to establish connections again

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.5  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
