This will address our provision of a secure (ssh) FTP solution
for the function of uploading jobs from Windows/Linux work-
station to the target z/OS systems securely.

The Profile Management Tool for z/OS (zPMT) uses FTP to upload
customization data that is created on a Windows or Linux
workstation to a target z/OS system. This allows sensitive
data to be transmitted unencrypted between the workstation and
the target z/OS system.

Problem conclusion

The Profile Management Tool for z/OS, along with the z/OS
Migration Management Tool (zMMT), have been updated to provide
an option to upload the customization or migration data using
secure FTP (which requires an SSH server on the target z/OS
system).

APAR PK86404 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level 7.0.0.6  of WebSphere Customization Tools. WebSphere
Customization Tools Service Level 7.0.0.6 will be available
for downloads on or before October 2, 2009 at the following
location:
