Error description

APAR PK76017 allows WebService applications to use an xml
catalog to locate wsdl and schema files.

After the installation of a fixpack containing APAR PK76017,
a Web Application Archive (WAR) that contains 60,000 files
requires more than 2 minutes to process during server startup.

APAR PK76017 allows JAX-WS applications to use an xml
catalog to locate wsdl and schema files.

After the installation of a fixpack containing APAR PK76017,
a Web Application Archive (WAR) that contains a large number of
files requires a long time to load during server startup.

The root of the problem is the WAR file is examined to find the
xml catalog properties.  This search causes the performance
degradation.

Problem conclusion

The code is changed to delay the xml catalog property search
until after the JAX-WS engine determines that the application
is a JAX-WS web service.  This eliminates the performance
delay for all of non-webservice applications.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.7.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
