Error description

Administrators using the WebSphere Application Server Version 7
Administrative console to configure JAX-WS application policy
sets and bindings will not see the General binding settings
after navigating to the New application specific bindings panel.

The error will occur if you install a JAX-WS web service
application and then navigate to the Service providers policy
sets and bindings panel and click Assign bindings > New
application specific bindings button, then return to the
Service providers policy sets and bindings panel and clicks
Assign binding > Provider sample (or any other existing
binding)

The error will occur if the administrator installs a JAX-WS
web service application, clicks on the application name and the
"Service providers policy sets and bindings" link, attaches a
policy set containing the WS-Security policy type,
and then clicks the "Assign bindings > New application
specific bindings" button.

Add the WS-Security policy type and click on the
"Authentication and protection" link.
Do NOT save the configuration.

Return to the "Service providers policy sets and bindings"
panel by using the breadcrumb link.
Click "Assign binding > Provider sample" (or any other
existing binding in the list).
If you then navigate to the "Authentication and protection"
link to view the last binding settings it is empty.

Problem conclusion

The problem was caused by a flag in the code indicating that a
"new binding" was being created and the getBindings method
did not need to be called to get the current binding
configuration data. This flag needed to be reset to "false" when
the administrator either finishes creating the new binding
or if the new binding creation steps are interrupted.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.5.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
