The IMS DB Resource Adapter needs J2CConnectionFactory MBean to
return the driver type value as specified in the connection
factory.

The Connection Factory MBeans are not available at Resource
Adapter start up for Resource Adapters to query. Certain
resource adapters will require this functionality for
initialization. Currently only the IMS DB Resource Adapter
is known to require this functionality.

Problem conclusion

This APAR provides a Java Virtual Machine custom property
"com.ibm.ws.runtime.component.ResourceMgr.postBindNotify",
which if set to "true" will make the Connection Factory MBeans
available at Resource Adapter start up.

To set this custom property, connect to the administrative
console and navigate to the appropriate Java virtual machine
custom properties page. This page can be located at Servers >
Application servers > server_name, and then, in the
Server Infrastructure section , click Java and process
management > Process definition > Java virtual machine >
Custom Properties. If the custom property is not present in the
list of already defined custom properties, create a new
property, and enter the property name as
com.ibm.ws.runtime.component.ResourceMgr.postBindNotify and
the value as true. Save the changes and then restart the
server for your changes to take effect.You can now use the
getProperty method exposed by the Connection Factory MBean to
query the custom properties of the corresponding Connection
Factory.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 6.1.0.29 and 7.0.0.9.  Please refer to the Recommended
