PK89902: BBOWMG3F FAILS IN BBOWMPRO STEP WHEN RUN WITH USER WITHOUT UID=0

Error description

When migrating to 70x from prior WebSphere Application Server
releases, the migration job BBOWMG3F of a Federated Server needs
to be run with a WebSphere Admin Userid who also has UID=0
privilege.

Running the BBOWMG3F job with just the WebSphere Admin Userid
will result in the failure of BBOWMPRO step.

Local fix

Need to break up BBOWMG3F into the below three jobs and run them
individually.

BBOWMPRO ? run with UID=0
BBOWMPRE ? run with WebSphere Administrator userid
BBOWMPOS ? run with WebSphere Administrator userid

Instructions in the zMMT tool and the Infocenter are incorrect
in regards to user authority required to run Migration jobs.
The instructions stated that only WebSphere Administration
Authority is needed to run BBOWMG3D,BBOWMG3F, BBOWMG3B jobs,
but these jobs must be run with a user that has control over
the file system. This is because the BBOWMPRO step that is ran
during these jobs requires file system authority.

Problem conclusion

The generated zMMT tool instructions, as well as the
Infocenter have been updated to reflect the correct
user authority required to run these jobs.

APAR PK89902 is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level 7.0.0.7 of WebSphere Application Server.
