APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
When using centralized installation manager (CIM) to install WebSphere Application Server v7.0 on remote hosts, CIM creates a Custom profile and federates it to the deployment manager cell. If the remote host is an IBM i host, the profile creation step fails due to an incorrect profile path. The output message is this: Installation completed, but errors detected. View Details Here are the details: XCIM0050E: The post-installation command [manageprofiles ....] failed. ....... The following validation errors were present with the command line arguments: profilePath: The "unknown" user ID attempted to create a profile, but does not have write permission to the following directories: /QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V7CIP/ND11/profiles/..... The profile path is not valid.
Local fix
Run manageprofiles command locally on the IBM i host and federate the node to the cell. To continue to use centralized installation manager to install the WebSphere Application Server on other IBM i hosts, use the response file option.
