Error description

The number of connections from the Sametime gateway Server  to
an external Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server continues
to grow until the server crashes.

In the systemout.log, each connection is denoted with the
following message code:
CWSPX0025I

Local fix

Set the following custom property in the SIP Container:

Name: javax.sip.force.connection.reuse
Value: false

Then restart the server. This tells the container not to apply
"connection reuse".

The problem happens when the application server creates an
outbound connection to a remote SIP server, and then accepts an
inbound connection from that same remote SIP server. The
application server attempts to reduce the number of
connections, by keeping the new connection that was created to
it, and discarding the old connection that it created earlier.
There is a bug in the code that discards the old connection -
the old connection is removed from memory, but not closed. As
this sequence is repeated, more and more connections are
created over time, hence the connection "leak".

Problem conclusion

The problem is fixed in the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
servlet container. With this fix, connections that are not in
use, are properly closed down.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 6.1.0.29 and 7.0.0.9.  Please refer to the Recommended
