Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM WebSphere Application Server * * version 7.0 installing applications with * * alt deployment descriptors that contain * * environment entries. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Environment entries defined in an alt * * deployment descriptor for a web * * module are not processed by the Map * * Env Entry for Web Module * * (MapEnvEntryForWebMod) task. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Environment entries defined via annotations are not processed by the MapEnvEntryForWebMod task (see APAR PK91517). While attempting to get the original, unmerged, deployment descriptor for a web module, the code did not handle alt deployment descriptors specified in the application correctly.
Problem conclusion
Changed the utility class used by the MapEnvEntryForWebMod task to check for and use alt deployment descriptors if present. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.0.9.
