Error description

When a customization definition for a managed node is created,
and "Set each default GID and UID value to indicate zOS
security is to assign an unused value" is selected, the
corresponding  checkbox ("Allow zOS security to assign ID") is
not automatically checked for the WebSphere Application
Security administrator.

The Profile Management Tool for z/OS that is contained within
the WebSphere Customization Tools Version 7.0 generates an
incorrect default UID when defining a managed node and
selecting "Set each default GID and UID value to indicate OS
security is to assign an unused value" on the "Default Values"
panel. In this case the Profile Management Tool incorrectly
assigns a UID value for the WebSphere Application Server
administrator, rather than automatically checking "Allow OS
security to assign UID".

Problem conclusion

The Profile Management Tool for z/OS within the WebSphere
Customization Tools will be updated to automatically check
"Allow OS security to assign UID" for the WebSphere
Application Server administrator when a user defines a managed
node and selects "Set each default GID and UID value to
indicate OS security is to assign an unused value" on the
"Default Values" panel.

This update will be provided in WebSphere Customization Tools
7.0.0.8. When available, WebSphere Customization Tools 7.0.0.8
can be downloaded from the following location:
