Error description

Adminconsole login fails after enabling "Authenticate when
any URI is protected". Seems to be same issue as PK39696.
Need fix for v. 7.0.0.x.

*                      when "Authenticate when any URI is      *

When the flag is set, WebSphere tries to perform authentication
in order to display the console login panel. This is before
credential can be entered by user. The administration console
login panel only shows image. It does not allow user to enter
credentials to login.

Problem conclusion

Code is updated to not to perform authentication for the admin
application login panels.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.9.  Please refer to the Recommended
Updates page for delivery information:

Temporary fix

A workaround is to go back to the login panel with "Back"
button. This time, the login panel shows entry fields for
userid and password. When correct userid and password is
entered here, admin console login is successful.
