Error description

The following error may occur during WebSphere Application
Server 7.0 start up:
WSWS7254E: Client binding information for the <module_name>
module in the <application_name> application could not be
processed due to the following error:
java.lang.ClassCastException: java.util.HashMap incompatible
with com.ibm.ws.websvcs.metadata.MetaDataHolder.

During WebSphere Application Server start up the following
error may occur:
WSWS7254E: Client binding information for the <module_name>
module in the <application_name> application could not be
processed due to the following error:
java.lang.ClassCastException: java.util.HashMap incompatible
with com.ibm.ws.websvcs.metadata.MetaDataHolder.

Problem conclusion

During application start up, metadata about the application
is created and stored in a table.  Under some circumstances the
table may be initialized with empty objects that are not of
type MetaDataHolder.
The code has been corrected to check the type of the object in
the table before attempting to cast it to a MetaDataHolder.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.9.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
