Error description

During the execution of a JAX-RPC web service the following
error occurs:

java.io.IOException: WSWS3701E: Error:
An exception was encountered.  Use the wsdeploy command to
deploy your  application.  The exception is
java.lang.NullPointerException Debug deploy artifact build

NullPointerException:

izeChild(BeanSerializer.java:474)

While running a JAX-RPC web service application a WSWS3701E
error occurs which indicates that a NullPointerException was
detected by the JAX-RPC runtime.

The web service trace information indicated that the
NullPointerException occurs in the
com.ibm.ws.webservices.engine.encoding.ser.BeanSerializer.serial
izeChild method.

Problem conclusion

The NullPointerException error was due to an incorrect
conditional statement.  The statement is corrected to avoid
accessing a null Object.

In addition, changes were made to make sure that this kind of
error is printed in the FFDC log.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.29 and 7.0.0.9.  Please refer to the
