Error description

WebSphere Application Server V6.1

The TimeLimitDaemon sweeps the cache instances at regular
intervals to remove expired entries.  It employs an
InvalidationTask pool to help with this effort.  The tasks in
this pool are reused across cacheids and cache instances.  When
a cache is cleared, all the InvalidationTasks for that cache
need to reset and not point to any of the application objects
of the cache.

If the InvalidationTasks for the cache are not reset, this can
cause a buildup of application objects of the cache in the java
heap.  This can lead to OutOfMemory errors.

Dynacache might retain a reference to an application object
when a cache instance is cleared.  This reference might
prevent the object from being garbage collected.

Problem conclusion

Dynacache objects are reset to remove references to
application objects so that the objects can be garbage
collected.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.29 and 7.0.0.9.  Please refer to the
