for session affinity may be routed to the wrong servant.

Incoming HTTP SIP requests that contain the servant affinity
value within URI may be routed to the wrong servant region (SR)
by the HTTP router in the control region (CR). Embedding the
servant affinity in the URI is a method of maintaining
affinity to a specific servant when the use of cookies is
disallowed. The CR routing logic was not parsing the URI for
the servant affinity value. As a result, the request was
routed to a random servant which may not be the correct
servant to honor the SIP session affinity.

The problem can be identified by a First Failure Data
Capture (FFDC) and/or trace record indicating a
java.lang.Exception containing the message "CTISession not
found for appSessionId" (or similar).

Problem conclusion

HTTP routing logic in the CR has been enhanced to look for the
servant affinity value in the request URI when no such
affinity value is found in a cookie. If an affinity value is
found in the URI, the value is used to route the request to
the servant identified by the value in order to maintain the
proper SIP session affinity.

APAR PK96299 is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.8 of WebSphere Application
Server V7.0.
