PK96354: JVM CUSTOM PROPERTY HTTP.NONPROXYHOSTS NOT HONORED WHEN HOSTNAME IS USED.

Closed as program error.

Error description

Client defines the JVM custom propery http.nonProxyHosts with
the value specified as a hostname. The property is not being
honored.  When this happens the internal SOAP requests are being
attempted through the proxy and these messages are seen:
 com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.ConnectorException:
 ADMC0053E:  The system cannot create a SOAP connector to
 connect to host hostname.domain.com at port 8878 with SOAP
 connector security enabled.
The property is only honored when the value is specified as an
IP address.

The same problem is seen for both http.nonProxyHosts and
https.nonProxyHosts. These properties should work with hostnames
and/or ip addresses.

Local fix

Work around this problem by specifying the IP address instead of
the hostname.

The use of host names in http.nonProxyHosts or
https.nonProxyHosts would not work because the target IP
address was used to determine non-proxy hosts.

Problem conclusion

The code was updated to use the host name rather than IP
address while comparing against the entries in
http.nonProxyHosts or https.nonProxyHosts properties.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
Service Level (Fix Pack) of WebSphere Application Server
version 6.1.0.29 and 7.0.0.9.
