APAR status

Error description

  • During shut down and restart the node is reporting the soap and
    discovery ports are in use and there is a port conflict.
    The port is in a Close_wait status.
    
    Causes failure of communication between the NodeAgent and the
    DeployMent Manager.
    
    Caused by:
    com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.ConnectorNotAvailableExce
    ption:
    ADMC0016E: The system cannot create a SOAP connector to connect
    to host <hostname> at port <SOAP port>.

Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After nodeagent restart, communication  *
    *                      fails between nodeagent and             *
    *                      deployment manager.                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    In certain circumstances, when the nodeagent is restarted,
    there can be a failure of communication between the nodeagent
    and deployment manager. This problem was originally reported
    in an AIX operating system, but it may be present on other
    operating systems as well.
    
    If you experience connection problems between the deployment
    manager and nodeagent after a nodeagent restart, run the
    operating system command "netstat -an". If it shows that ports
    used by nodeagent and deployment manager remain in a
    CLOSE_WAIT state, this APAR may fix your problem.
    
    Some or all of the following messages may also be seen in the
    logs:
    
    ADMS0005E: The system is unable to generate synchronization
    request:
    com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.AdminException: Admin
    client connection to deployment manager is unavailable;
    nodeagent has not discovered the dmgr
    
    ConnectException: A remote host refused an attempted connect
    operation.
    
    ADMD0004E: The TCP socket: xxxx cannot be opened. Check if
    port is opened by remote process.
