Error description

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Failover on z/OS feature
is being delivered in WAS 7.0.0.5.   When this feature is
enabled, and all servant regions fail simultaneously, data will
remain in the logstreams.  Currently, there is not a
programmmatic way to clean these logstreams.

The user will need to bring down the controller region then
delete and re-create the logstreams.

If all servant regions fail simultaneously, but the controller
region remains up, artifacts will be left in the recovery
log.  Potentially, the logs could be full of unused recovery
information.

Problem conclusion

We added code so that the logs will be purged when the next
servant region starts.

APAR PK96644 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.7 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
