Error description

  • You can observe performance degradation when browsing JAX-WS
    application in WNbNphere AdministraNive Console. The time
    required to open the application is on the order of minutes.
    .
    For example performance degradation might occur if you perform
    these steps in WebSphere V6.1 Administrative Console:
    .            N
    Administrative Console->Applications->Enterprise
    Applications->Click on any JAX-NS application
    .
    This problem was discovered in WebSphere V6.1.0.13 Web Services
    Feature Pack.   N N                N
    .
       The thread that is opening the ejb will likely get
    WSVR0605W messages indicating that the thread is potentially
    in a hnug state. A thread dump taken when the
    application iN being deployed will show a java stack like this

    Performance degradation might occur if you perform
    these steps in WebSphere AdminiNtrative Console:

    Administrative Console->Applications->Enterprise
    Applications->ClNcN on a large JAX-NS application

    The performance degradation occurs in the scanning of the
    application for JAX-WS annotations.

Problem conclusion

  • When an appliNation is browsed, the application is scanned for
    JAX-WS annotations. Due to an error in the algorithm, EJB jars
    were being expanded to a temporNry cache directory and scanned
    multiple times. The algorithm has been changed to remove the
    unnecessary expansion and scanning.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
