Error description

We regenerated the client artifacts. When trying to run the
same application (with the new artifacts) we received the
following error message:

The endpoint reference (EPR) for the Operation not found is
invokeEcho and the WSA Action = echo.

The scenario for this problem is a JAX-WS web services
application on WebSphere Application Server V7.0 is working
correctly. After regenerating the client artifacts, the
following type of error message may occur while running the
application.

The endpoint reference (EPR) for the Operation not found is
invokeEcho and the WSA Action = echo.

This error message does not provide sufficient information to
the customer.

Problem conclusion

This is a result of the WebSphere Application Server
administrator installing a new version of the JAX-WS tooling,
which likely occurred when they upgraded to a later version of
the JDK. If the version of the tooling is 2.1.6 or later it
will generate the client artifacts differently. This behavior
is described in the latest WebSphere Application Server
7.0.0.9 Information Center.

The SOAPFault message has been updated to better describe the
error situation.

The error message will now say:
The endpoint reference (EPR) for the Operation not found is
invokeEcho and the WSA Action = echo. If this EPR was
previously reachable, please contact the server administrator.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.9.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
page for delivery information:
